This morning, August 9th, the American Cancer Society held it’s annual kickoff breakfast for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Southwest Missouri. Local business representatives from around Springfield, and others, gathered at 7:30 a.m. at the Bass Pro White River Conference Center to listen to facts, figures, and stories in preparation for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk that will take place on October 20th at Jordan Valley Park.
The breakfast included inspiring videos, guest speakers, and an atmosphere of hope. Guests were encouraged to fill out a commintment card agreeing to become a team leader and then given different tools to aid in their fundraising efforts.
Guests also had the chance to find out where and how their contributions were helping those in need, as well as, hear encouraging guest speakers tell about their experiences with the American Cancer Society. The breakfast marked an exciting beginning for those in attendance to raise money, gather people, and make strides in ending breast cancer.
