Our Government Relations Department is consistently working with our legislators to improve our lives and the way we treat and take preventative measures against cancer. If one person can battle cancer, a nation can rise up to defeat it. Public policy decisions affect lives, and the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) advocates and grassroots volunteers give cancer a voice and a face by promoting effective cancer policies and legislation at the federal, state and local levels. Current priorities include creating a smoke-free nation, advocating for increased federal investments in cancer research, prevention, early detection and treatment, and ensuring access to preventative cancer screening for all Americans.
